"Echo Park," which covers the years 1978–81, is the first part of a trilogy that will tell the story of hip-hop to the present day. Two weeks ago an official kick off party was held and attended by several legends including Kool Herc. The future museum itself is still in the planning stages but you can contribute to the movement right now. The Hall's web site does not feature any particular artists yet because it is not looking to promote any artists over another until after the first round of inductions. Other areas are also still under construction, however, Steven Burns, an associate with the movement, says "The most important thing right now are the Public elections..." Don't miss the chance to help shape the first inductions into the Hall of Fame.
