The three MC’s grew up together in the same building in the Bronx, New York.<\/p>\n

At a local battle, the encountered Rockmaster Scott who was working with another group at the time. \u00a0They eventually formed a group together and performed alongside the groups that inspired them including the Cold Crush Brothers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first recorded song, “It’s Life (You Gotta Think Twice)” for Reality Records in 1983, but once the song started getting airplay Profile Records came calling.<\/p>\n

Not long after they recorded their two most well known songs “Request Line” and “The Roof is on Fire” both of which hit the Billboard charts in 1984.<\/p>\n
